Prayer times for Mangaluru
These namaz timings are calculated for Mangaluru, Karnataka, India, at 12.9141° N, 74.8560° E. Mangaluru keeps India Standard Time (IST, UTC+5:30; time zone Asia/Kolkata), one clock for the whole country with no daylight saving. Times are worked out on your phone for each date with the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method (Fajr and Isha at 18° below the horizon) and Hanafi Asr, the school followed by most Muslims in India.
Because Mangaluru lies 7.6° west of the 82.5° E meridian on which IST is based, the sun crosses the local meridian about 31 minutes later by the clock than it does on that meridian, so Zuhr here averages about 12:31 PM across the year. During 2027, Fajr is earliest around 31 May (4:45 AM) and latest around 28 January (5:44 AM), while Maghrib moves between 6:01 PM in November and 7:01 PM in June. The longest day of fasting, from Fajr to Maghrib, is about 14 h 13 min in June and the shortest about 12 h 38 min in January. Being close to the equator, its day length changes only a little between seasons.
Mangaluru, the main port of coastal Karnataka, has a large Beary-speaking Muslim community. For jama'at, follow your local masjid's timetable.
