Calculating prayer times…

Next 7 days / Agle 7 din

⏱ Local masjid note: these are calculated beginning times. Your local masjid's timetable can differ by a few minutes (different coordinates, a few minutes of caution, or another method) — for jama'at times always follow your masjid. Apne mohalle ki masjid ka waqt hi jama'at ke liye maanein.

How to use the namaz timings

Pick your city from the list of 42 cities in India and Pakistan, or press Use my location and allow location access. The box at the top shows today's Fajr, sunrise, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha with the next prayer highlighted, and the table below it gives the next seven days. Everything is calculated on your own phone, so the page keeps working on a weak connection once it has loaded, and your city and settings are remembered on this device only.

Shehar chunein ya "Use my location" dabaiye — aaj aur agle 7 din ke auqaat-e-namaz turant mil jayenge.

How the times are calculated

Every prayer time is tied to the position of the sun. Fajr begins at true dawn, when the sun is a set angle below the eastern horizon. Zuhr begins just after the sun passes its highest point (solar noon). Asr begins when the shadow of an object reaches a set length. Maghrib begins right after sunset, and Isha when the evening twilight has gone. For each date, the calculator works out the sun's declination and the equation of time for your coordinates, then turns these angles into clock times in your time zone — India Standard Time (UTC+5:30) or Pakistan Standard Time (UTC+5).

The default is the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method, with Fajr and Isha at 18° below the horizon. You can also choose the Muslim World League (18° and 17°), ISNA (15° and 15°) or Umm al-Qura (Fajr 18.5°, Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib). The method mainly moves Fajr and Isha; sunrise, Zuhr and Maghrib stay the same. We checked the results against a published Karachi-method table for Hyderabad and found them within a minute.

Hanafi or Shafi'i Asr?

In the Hanafi school, followed by most Muslims in India and Pakistan, Asr begins when an object's shadow becomes twice its length (plus the shadow it had at noon). In the Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali schools it begins when the shadow equals the object's length. That is why Hanafi Asr comes later: in Hyderabad on 15 November 2026 the two times are 4:04 PM and 3:16 PM, and in Lahore in mid-June the gap grows to well over an hour. Hanafi is selected by default; switch to Shafi'i if that is what you follow.

Praying on time

Allah says: "Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times" (Quran 4:103). When Abdullah ibn Mas'ud asked the Prophet ﷺ which deed is dearest to Allah, he replied: "To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times" (Sahih al-Bukhari 527). Knowing when each time begins helps you pray early and plan your day around salah.

Remember that these are beginning times. Masjids set their jama'at a little later, and printed local timetables sometimes add a few minutes of caution or use slightly different coordinates, so small differences are normal. For congregation, follow your local masjid.

Namaz timings by city

Each city also has its own page with today's times, a weekly table, the Qibla bearing and notes about that city:

Important: This tool gives general guidance. Har shakhs ka maamla alag ho sakta hai — apne personal case ke liye kisi mustanad local aalim ya mufti se zaroor mashwara karein.

FAQ / Aksar pooche jaane wale sawal

Which calculation method should I use in India or Pakistan?

This page uses the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method (Fajr and Isha at 18°) with Hanafi Asr by default. If your local masjid or darul ifta publishes a timetable using another method, choose that method so your times match.

Why are these times different from my masjid's timetable?

Calculated times can differ by a few minutes from a printed timetable because of the exact coordinates used, the method, or minutes of caution added by the masjid. For jama'at, always follow your local masjid.

What is the difference between Hanafi and Shafi'i Asr?

Hanafi Asr begins when an object's shadow is twice its length; Shafi'i (and Maliki and Hanbali) Asr begins when the shadow equals its length. Hanafi Asr is therefore later, often by 45 minutes or more.

Is my location sent anywhere?

No. If you use 'Use my location', your coordinates are used only inside your browser to calculate the times and may be remembered on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us.
